NIKI STAVRATI
She took up viola da gamba lessons during her studies at the Ionian University Department of Music Studies, with professor Jiannis Toulis, where she graduated in 2005. From 2005 to 2008 she studied Early Music with main instrument the viola da gamba at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bremen, with professor Hille Perl. She returned to the Ionian University Department of Music Studies in 2011 and obtained a Master’s Degree in Music Performance (viola da gamba), with professor Jiannis Toulis. As a part of her dissertation she translated into Greek the first observations of the Florilegium Secundum by Georg Muffat.
During the years 2008 to 2012 she worked as a music teacher in Primary Education Corfu. From 2011 until today she is in charge of Public Relations Office of the Ionian University Department of Music Studies.
She has attended workshops for the viola da gamba with Wieland Kuijken, Paolo Pandolfo, Imke David, Richard Boothby, Reiko Ichise and Charles Medlam. She takes part in Early Music concerts in Greece and abroad, both in ensembles and as a soloist.
